We left the house at 6:00 am and headed to UAMS. The ride to the hospital was an interesting one because I was carrying two babies and they each had 3 names. We had to decide on 1 name per child and we only had about a 15 minute ride to do so. It only took about 5 minutes. Why didn't we do that 3 months prior? I'm still not sure. We got to UAMS, got checked in and ready. Here we are waiting ..... by the way, my hands are on my belly. You almost couldn't see me because it was so big!
It was such an exciting day! We had a waiting room full of family and friends that couldn't wait to meet the babies. These 4 couldn't wait to meet the two that would join their club.....
O took a break and waited in Uncle Lee's lap.

WP was born at 9:45 am and weighed 7 pounds 8 ounces. AK was born at 9:47am and weighed 6 pounds 5 ounces. O was the first to get to see each baby. Paul came out to get her and told her she was finally a big sister.
O also had a special role on this special day. She had the job of announcing the babies names. Here she was making the big announcement.
She couldn't wait to see them! After all, SHE was the big sister and she was getting TWO babies.
She got to help take WP to the nursery with Paul. On the way, she looked over the side of the bassinet and asked WP if he wanted to come play at her house. She couldn't wait!
O was such a proud big sister!
Back to waiting.....AK was coming next to make her debut!
Waiting for AK......
O was the first to see her. She was a little hesitant with all of the wires and cords, but it didn't take long for her to warm up to things. AK was fine, she required a little help to get her breathing good, but ended up doing better than WP. That's a girl for you!
AK, the baby girl
Everyone was so excited to see her.
O told Memaw and Grandad about her new babies.
After all the excitement, Paul and O went to the nursery to see the babies.
Later that afternoon, O came to visit the babies and she had a surprise. WP and AK each had a special treat waiting for her. WP gave her a new princess blanket.
AK had a sweet cross necklace for her....a necklace only for big sisters.
Uncle Lee and Aunt Mel with AK.
So here we were......Svoboda party of 5!
The next day, O brought the babies her gifts that she had picked out herself. A rubber duck for WP and a baby for AK (because "girls like babies, you know").
Dr. Wendel was my doctor with the twins and O. He was wonderful!
Here they are.....The first night they spent with us in the room, we just couldn't quite get them settled throughout the night. Both babies were really restless. The nurse suggested that we put them in a bassinett together, after all they had been living in close quarters for 9 months. It worked!! They immediately calmed and this is how they slept, very soundly, while we where in the hospital.
Four days later we were headed home! Our first step into reality.....
Precious babies....and such miracles!
Many, many thanks to my sweet friend, Mary Katherine, who was the photographer of the day. She helped to document all of the excitement that we will remember forever!!Happy Birthday, Twins! What a precious year it has been!
More pics to come....we've got all kinds of parties coming.....

I just cried reading this! I remember it like it was yesterday! One of my favorite days of all time. I will never forget just praising God outloud when P came and told us about those BIG babies you had delivered!
BUT...it wasn't near as loud as the scream I let out when you told me your were preg. I remember that I was holding my newborn and I scared him to death!
